WINDOWS 10/11 HOME

Follow these instructions to install and activate Windows 10/11 Home Edition.

Download Windows 11

Visit the official Microsoft download page

Install Windows 11 Home

Create installation media and install Windows 11 Home edition

Important: During installation, select "Windows 11 Home" edition, NOT Pro.

Activate After Installation

If Windows 11 is already installed:

  1. Start → Settings → System → Activation
  2. Click "Update product key"
  3. Click "Change product key"
  4. Click "Change"

Create installation media and install Windows 10 Home edition

Important: During installation, select "Windows 10 Home" edition, NOT Pro.

Activate After Installation

If Windows 10 is already installed:

  1. Start → Settings → Update & Security → Activation
  2. Click "Change product key"
  3. Enter your product key

Windows Activated!

Your Windows Home Edition is now activated!

Windows Home vs Pro

This license key is specifically for Windows 10/11 Home edition. It will NOT work with Professional, Enterprise, or other editions.

If you need Pro features like BitLocker, Remote Desktop, or Group Policy, please purchase a Windows Pro license instead.

Common Troubleshooting Steps

If you encounter activation errors, follow these steps.

Fix Windows Services:

  1. Search "Services" on Search Bar → Click on Services
  2. Find: Windows License Manager Service, Windows Update, Windows Event Log, Windows Event Collector, Windows Time
  3. All must be in Running status with Automatic startup type
  4. If not, right-click → Properties → Set to Automatic → Start → Apply

Wrong Edition Error:

If you see "This key is for a different edition", make sure you're installing Windows Home, not Pro or Enterprise.

You may need to perform a fresh Windows Home installation.

Error 0xc004c008 - Phone Activation:

This method can also be used for OFFLINE activation of Windows:

  1. Press Windows + R → Type slui 4 → Enter
  2. Select your country (e.g., India) → Click Next
  3. Note your 63-digit Installation ID
  4. Enter Installation ID on the GetCID activation page
  5. Wait 2-3 minutes for Confirmation ID
  6. Enter Confirmation ID → Windows Activated!
